In order to start up its actions, CEIA proposed an event called THE VISIBLE AND THE INVISIBLE IN TODAY’S ART, made up of a digital art exhibition, an international video show, and an international cycle of lectures.
These three activities aimed mainly at discussing the contemporary art production, taking into consideration the importance of the concepts of visibility and invisibility in this context.
Regarded by O Estado de Minas Newspaper as “one of the most significant cultural happenings of the year”, this cycle counted on the participation of 14 lecturers coming from different countries, namely Brazil, South Africa, Finland, England, Cameroon, Argentina, Holland and Poland.
Period: September 11th through 21st, 2001.
